Professors Paul Di Gangi and Philip Musa, Ph.D., from the University of Alabama, were chosen as AIS Distinguished Members-Cum Laude. Philip Musa was privileged in the association’s June 2022 membership associate, while Paul Gangi was privileged in December of that same year.
AIS Healthcare began in the early 1990s and is now the primary global professional association for information systems scholars. The AIS program acknowledges members who have provided an important influence on the organization. To get the AIS Distinguished Member-Cum Laude title, the person must be a member for the last ten years or longer while participating in the AIS activities.
Philip Musa has educated both operations management and systems analysis courses since becoming a member at UAB more than twenty years ago.
Professor Musa aids on the advisory and editorial boards of a few top academic publications. One publication was the Electronic Journal of Information Systems, and another leading publication was the Information Technology for Development. Although Philip Musa published others, the most recent he co-edited was a special supplemental issue that explored public health and racism, an essential topic years ago. Professor Musa is an active member of Global Development and AIS Healthcare special interest groups.
Paul Di Gangi teaches information security and cybersecurity courses at the scholar and graduate levels. Paul Di Gangi earned the UAB President’s Award for Excellence due to his dedication to teaching at the MS MIS Faculty.
Paul Di Gangi is honored to earn this achievement in hopes of continuing to share additional contributions to their discipline as a UAB professor.
Professor Di Gangi serves as an associate editor for the European Journal of Information Systems and a senior editor for MIS Quarterly Executive, where he continues making a difference in people’s lives.
