Chicago’s growing film and TV scene include several studio spaces, but one may be taking the lead in future productions. Cinespace studios plan to expand their location by two-thirds. The company has enjoyed success recently due to the number of movies being produced in Chicago. This expansion will increase the talent pool and provide even more entertainment options for residents and visitors alike.

Alex Pissios founded Cinespace in 2011 in Chicago. His vision for the studios is to make it a hub for film and TV production. The facility has already welcomed big names, including the “Arrested Development” series and Keanu Reeves. The studios now employ more than 700 people and operate at a 70% capacity.

The company has enjoyed success recently due to the number of movies being produced in Chicago. This expansion will increase the talent pool and provide even more entertainment options for residents and visitors alike.

Cinespace currently occupies 70 acres of land and has already experienced a fair amount of growth in the past year. The company plans to build out 19 new soundstages this year for 26. This expansion will provide an additional 100,000 square feet of space for the growing film industry in the Chicago area.

This expansion makes Cinespace one of the largest studio spaces in the midwest and will increase entertainment options for Chicago residents. The addition of this new studio space will provide even more movie jobs for Chicago residents and can also attract several notable films to the area. The expansion is expected to be complete by 2018, as construction begins this year.

According to Cinespace CEO Alex Pissios, “This expansion facilitates a business model becoming the industry standard.” The new soundstages and new office space will help make filming in Chicago more attractive to major studios.

The expansion is expected to create many jobs over the next two years. Cinespace will hire additional crew members, construction workers, and other professionals. The development is also likely to increase the number of film projects produced within the city. This growth will also provide more entertainment options for Chicago residents and visitors alike. Alex Pissios went on to say, “It’s a win-win for the city.”
