
Hassan Jameel was born on October 22, 1988, to Mohammad Abdul Latif Jameel, a Saudi Arabian businessman who is the CEO of Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ). ALJ is an international, family-owned, hybrid company that was established by Hassan’s grandfather, Sheikh Abdul Latif Jameel, in 1945. This was after Sheikh Abdul Latif achieved significant success in the automotive industry after starting his first gas station in Jeddah. In 1955, Hassan’s grandfather acquired a Toyota dealership. Afterward, Sheikh Abdul Latif Jameel became a prominent player in the automobile industry, with his dealership delivering numerous Toyota and Lexus vehicles to seven countries. Sheikh Abdul Latif Jameel later handed control of ALJ to his son, Mohammad, and grandchildren, Fady and Hassan.
Today, ALJ has become a major player in various industries, including manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, energy, automotive, investments, and property development. Hassan Jameel is currently the vice president of ALJ. He leads the operations of the company from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Hassan supervises the firm’s digital strategy, enhancing the interaction between customers, employees, and shareholders across the globe. He believes technological innovation and development is a key factor in the company’s success. In terms of education, Hassan has a Master’s in Business Administration from the London Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in International Economics from Sophia University in Tokyo. His schooling and experience in the world of business have enabled him to manage ALJ’s operations from a global perspective.
Hassan Jameel also serves as the vice chairman of Community Jameel, an independent organization within ALJ that was founded in 2003. Community Jameel was set up to help communities thrive through science. Additionally, Jameel is one of the founding members of the Family Business Council – Gulf, a non-profit organization that supports and assists businesses in the Middle East and North Africa.
