Tom Keane is the corporate Vice-President of Azure Global at Microsoft. He is responsible for defining and implementing the company’s strategy for public cloud computing, including developing global relationships with customers, partners, developers, and related ecosystem players-

 

This, to accelerate the adoption of Microsoft Azure in both enterprise and emerging markets. He has over 20 years of experience leading technology companies to succeed in the government, security, telecommunications, and internet sectors. Before joining Microsoft in 2011, Tom Keane served as the President & CEO of the engineer Keane Federal Systems (KFS), leading KFS’s expansion.

 

This, into new business areas outside of traditional federal information technology solutions as Tom Keane explains. Before KFS, he worked at the Department of Defense (DoD) as the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Technology Officer, managing 90,000 Department of Defense employees and $11B in annual business. In 2005, Tom co-founded Keane Group International (KGI). This boutique consulting firm focuses on helping companies maximize their competitive advantage by working with them to create new business models and markets.

KGI created and implemented new value propositions for growing companies in emerging markets. Tom also spent over 17 years at NSI as the founding CEO and Chairman (Ideamensch). 

During Tom Keane´s tenure there, NSI became one of the leading global providers of communications software solutions for directory services and network software products. Under his leadership, NSI was sold to Nokia for $2.4B. Tom has a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University. He is a member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), the ACM Professional Association for Computing Machinery (ACM-PAM), the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the Western U.S. National Sheriffs’ Association (WUSA). Tom Keane leads all the expansion and delivery projects at Microsoft Corporation.
