Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Gretchen Robinson was drawn to Roosevelt Island’s beauty, notably its cherry blossoms and stunning views of the adjacent metropolitan area.
She has substantially contributed to Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation’s efforts to repair the island since joining the organization in 2019. She possesses the problem-solving abilities to manage difficult situations and guarantee that the organization’s activities are per laws, regulations, and community expectations.
While directed by CEO Shelton Haynes, Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation has successfully executed 27 projects to upgrade Roosevelt Island’s amenities and infrastructure. These projects have led to the upkeep of the Manhattan Aerial Tramway Station and repairing the seawall at Southpoint Park. Gretchen Robinson handled the refurbishment and authorization of the Roosevelt Island Youth Center, which expanded the network’s toddler care options.
